The scene was set for my first trick shot show of the 2011 season.
Ipswich Town Football Club enjoyed 18 holes in glorious sunshine at Hintlesham before being entertained by yours truly.
Amongst the 130 or so crowd were manager Paul Jewell, Mick Mills, George Burley, and Matty Holland.
The show started in fine form as I appeared from nowhere on my unicycle juggling golf balls on a pitching wedge.
Witty one line gags got the footballers and guests in the mood for a special 30 minutes of trick golf.
Heckling from DJ Spoony could’nt of come at a better time for me. How’s your putting the DJ asked? My reply…… was a 150 yard putt (with a touch of draw) within 8 feet of the flag. Invited onto centre stage Spoony’s punishment was to demonstrate a series of cross handed chip shots which had the audience in stiches.
Shots standing on a gym ball, always a crowd pleaser followed, before main sponsor Carl Day helped me launch shots out of mid air from a 20 foot pipe.
